J2 INTELLIGENCE PIPELINE — STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
1. PURPOSE
This SOP governs the Bronze Squadron J2 Intelligence Pipeline — a system that converts real-world news events into fictionalized JSOC-style intelligence items and publishes them to the unit's intelligence feed. The pipeline connects J2 (intelligence production) to J3 (operations) through a structured request workflow.
2. SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The pipeline consists of four components working together:
J2 Intel Generator
The production tool. J2 personnel use this to fetch real-world headlines, fictionalize them into classified intel reports, and post them to the unit news feed. Access is restricted to J2 personnel via a dedicated access code.

The intel feed forum. All generated intel items are posted here by the J2 Intel Bot. Items are tagged with an AO region and threat classification and are visible to all unit members.

The J2 command view. Displays all active intel items organized by region and threat level, with an interactive AO map, active conflict alerts, and a latest intel feed. Updates automatically when new items are posted.

The J3 command view. Includes an Intel Feed panel that mirrors the active tagged intel items. J3 operators can flag items for mission development using the REQUEST button.

3. J2 RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Intel Generation
J2 is responsible for maintaining a steady flow of actionable intelligence items. At minimum, J2 should aim to publish new items before each scheduled operation and following significant real-world developments in relevant AOs.
Recommended cadence: 1-3 new intel items per week, prioritizing regions relevant to current or upcoming operations.
3.2 Intel Packet Production
When J3 requests an intel packet, J2 is responsible for producing a detailed follow-up document covering:
- Full threat assessment
- Key indicators and warnings
- Named areas of interest (NAIs)
- HVT profiles (if applicable)
- Recommended collection priorities
- Mission options (DA, SR, FID, COIN, NEO)
Intel packets are posted as replies to the original intel topic on the forum, keeping the full intelligence thread in one place.
3.3 Tag Application
After posting via the generator, J2 must manually apply the correct region and threat tags to each topic through the Forumify UI. This is a required step — items without tags will not appear on the J2 or J3 dashboards.
4. STEP-BY-STEP: GENERATING AN INTEL ITEM
Step 1 — Access the Generator
Navigate to wiki.bronzesquadron.com/j2-generator and enter the J2 access code when prompted. Contact the wiki administrator if you do not have the access code.
Step 2 — Fetch Headlines
Click Fetch Headlines. The system will search current real-world news for military-relevant events and return six headlines from sources such as Reuters, Military Times, Al Jazeera, and others.
You may optionally narrow the search by entering:
- AO Focus — a geographic region (e.g. "West Africa", "Eastern Europe")
- News Keywords — topic filters (e.g. "insurgency", "arms deal", "HVT")
Step 3 — Select and Configure
Click the headline you want to fictionalize. The system will pre-fill the AO region based on the source article.
Set the following fields:

Click Generate Intel Item.
Step 4 — Review the Output
The AI will produce a fictionalized intelligence report with the following sections:
- SITUATION — what happened, who was involved (all real names replaced with fictional equivalents)
- ASSESSMENT — threat analysis, capability implications, strategic intent
- KEY INDICATORS — observable signs to watch for
- SOURCE RELIABILITY — confidence level of the reporting
- MISSION POTENTIAL — what type of operation this could support (if applicable)
Review the output carefully. You may edit both the title and body before posting. Ensure:
- No real country names, organization names, or personal names appear
- The content is plausible within the Bronze Squadron operational universe
- The threat classification is accurate
- The content is appropriate for the unit audience
Step 5 — Post
Click Post to World News Forum. The system will authenticate with the forum and create the topic automatically, posted under the J2 Intel Bot account.
A success message will appear with a direct link to the posted topic and a reminder to apply tags.
Step 6 — Apply Tags (Required)
Open the posted topic using the link provided. Click the tag icon on the topic and apply both:
- The region tag (e.g. Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific)
- The threat classification tag (e.g. Active Conflict, Emerging Threat)
The item will not appear on either dashboard until both tags are applied.
5. STEP-BY-STEP: RESPONDING TO A J3 INTEL REQUEST
When J3 requests an intel packet, a Discord notification is sent to the J2 channel containing:
- Intel item title
- AO / Region
- Threat classification
- Direct link to the source topic
J2 Response Procedure
1. J2 Intel Request Processing
- Review the linked intel topic
- Assess mission viability based on current unit posture and available elements
- Produce an intel packet as a reply to the original topic (see Section 3.2)
- Notify J3 via Discord or forum reply that the packet is ready
- Coordinate with J3 on any additional collection requirements
Response time standard: J2 should acknowledge intel requests within 24 hours and deliver a full packet within 72 hours of the request.
2. Threat Classification Definitions

3. Mission Potential Definitions

4. Naming Conventions
Intel items should follow a consistent naming format to keep the feed organized and searchable.
Recommended format:

Reset the number sequence per region per operation cycle, or maintain a running sequence — your call. Consistency matters more than the specific convention.
5. Access and Credentials

The J2 access code is separate from wiki admin credentials. Do not share it outside J2 personnel. If the code is compromised, contact the wiki administrator to rotate it.
6. What J3 Sees
When J2 posts and tags an intel item, it automatically appears in J3's Intel Feed panel on the J3 Operations Dashboard within one page refresh. J3 operators see:
- Intel item title (clickable link to the full topic)
- AO / Region badge
- Threat classification badge
- Date posted
- REQUEST button
When J3 clicks REQUEST, a formatted notification is sent to the J2 Discord channel and the button changes to REQUESTED on that operator's browser. J2 should monitor the Discord channel for incoming requests.
7. Common Issues
Item not appearing on dashboards after posting
Tags have not been applied. Open the topic and add both the region and threat classification tags manually.
Generator access code not working
Contact the wiki administrator. The code may have been rotated.
"Failed to post" error in generator
The Forumify API connection may be down. Try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact the wiki administrator.
REQUEST button shows FAILED on J3 dashboard
The Discord webhook may be temporarily unavailable. J3 can notify J2 directly via Discord. The button state is stored locally per browser — J3 may need to refresh to retry.
Intel item posted to wrong forum
Contact the wiki administrator. Topics can be moved in Forumify admin.
8. J-2 Intelligence Dashboard
Purpose
The J-2 Intelligence Dashboard is the unit's primary intelligence visualization tool. It aggregates all active intelligence items posted to the All Bronze Squadron News Source forum and presents them in a single command view, organized by threat level and area of operations. The dashboard updates automatically whenever a new tagged intel item is published — no manual refresh or data entry required.
How the Dashboard Works
The dashboard reads directly from the forum. Any topic posted to the All Bronze Squadron News Source forum that has been tagged with both a region tag and a threat classification tag will appear automatically across all dashboard panels. Items without both tags will not appear.
This means the dashboard is only as current and accurate as the tags J2 applies to each posted intel item. Tagging is mandatory.
2. DASHBOARD PANELS
Classification Ticker
A scrolling banner at the top of the page. Indicates the classification handling standard for all items displayed. All items on this dashboard are UNCLASSIFIED and handled via standard Bronze Squadron channels.
Intel Summary Strip
Seven counters displayed across the top of the dashboard showing at a glance: total intel items, count by each threat classification, and the most active area of operations by item volume. Use this strip for quick situational awareness and briefing command on the current intelligence picture.
Active Conflict Alert Panel
Appears only when one or more items are classified as Active Conflict. This panel sits above all other content and cannot be missed. All Active Conflict items are listed with their region badge, a pulsing red indicator, and a direct link to the forum topic. If this panel is present, it requires immediate J2 attention and should be briefed to J3 and command without delay.
Latest Intelligence Feature
Displays the single most recently posted intel item as a featured card. Serves as a quick reference for what is newest in the feed without scrolling through the full list.
Threat Legend
A reference key showing all five threat classifications and their color codes. Consistent across all dashboard panels, the globe, and the forum topic tags.
AO Grid
Seven cells representing each area of operations. Each cell shows the item count for that region and a status indicator — ACTIVE (red, pulsing) if any item in that region is classified as Active Conflict, MONITORED (amber) if items exist at other threat levels, or CLEAR (grey) if no items are present. Clicking an active or monitored cell filters the Latest Intel list to show only items from that region and scrolls the view to the intel feed automatically.
AO Threat Globe
An interactive 3D globe showing all active intel items as color-coded pins positioned at their area of operations centroid. Pin colors match the threat classification color system. On desktop, hovering over a pin shows the intel item title, region, threat level, and date. Clicking a pin opens the forum topic. On mobile, the first tap shows the preview, the second tap opens the topic. When threat or region filters are active, non-matching pins dim to 15% opacity so the filtered items stand out clearly. The globe auto-rotates slowly when idle and pauses on interaction.
Intel Control Bar
Located above the Latest Intel panel. Contains four tools for navigating the intel feed:
- Search — real-time keyword filter across all intel item titles. Type any word or phrase to narrow the list instantly. Clear with the X button.
- Threat filter — click any threat classification pill to show only items at that threat level. Click ALL to reset.
- AO filter — click any region pill to show only items from that area of operations. Integrates with the AO Grid clicks.
- Sort — toggle between Newest, Oldest, Region (alphabetical), and Threat Level (severity order: Active Conflict first).
Threat and AO filters stack — you can filter to Emerging Threat items in Africa simultaneously. The intel count in the panel header updates to reflect how many items match the current filter state.
Latest Intel Panel
The full chronological feed of all tagged intel items, subject to active filters and sort order. Each row shows the item title, region badge, threat classification badge, and posting date. Click any row to open the full forum topic. Items tagged Active Conflict display a pulsing red dot indicator.
Region Panels
Below the Latest Intel feed, individual panels group items by area of operations. Each panel is collapsible — click the panel header to expand or collapse. Collapse state is saved to the browser and persists across page reloads, allowing J2 to keep quiet regions collapsed and active regions open. Each panel is color-coded to its region color.

- Daily and pre-operation situational awareness brief to command
- Monitoring the active conflict alert panel for items requiring immediate escalation
- Checking the AO grid for regional coverage gaps — regions showing CLEAR may indicate collection shortfalls
- Using the globe to visualize the geographic spread of current intelligence
- Filtering by region or threat to focus the picture during mission planning support
- Providing J3 with a filtered view of relevant intel when building operation concepts
5. WHAT J2 DOES NOT USE THIS DASHBOARD FOR
The dashboard is read-only. No personnel actions, record updates, or status changes are performed here. All intel item creation is done through the J2 Generator at wiki.bronzesquadron.com/j2-generator. All tagging is done manually in Forumify after posting. The dashboard displays the result of that work — it does not replace it.
6. MAINTENANCE NOTES
The dashboard requires no manual maintenance. It updates automatically as forum topics are posted and tagged. If an item appears without region or threat badges, the tags have not been applied — J2 should locate the topic in the All Bronze Squadron News Source forum and apply both required tags. If the dashboard appears empty, check that recent topics have been tagged correctly.
